China on Tuesday announced plans for this year’s celebration of the 70th anniversary of the victory in World War II, and invited militaries of other countries to participate in a parade at Tian’anmen Square in Beijing on September 3.

周二，中国公布庆祝二战胜利70周年计划，并邀请外国军队参加9月3日在北京天安门广场举行的阅兵仪式。

"It’s the first time that foreign troops have been invited to participate. We hope through this year’s military parade, history and the future can be connected, China and the world can be connected and the message of peace and development can be sent,” said Qu Rui, deputy director of parade steering group office, at a press conference on Tuesday.

“这是首次邀请外国军队参加阅兵仪式。我们希望今年的阅兵仪式能够联系历史和未来，加强中国和世界的联系，向外界传递和平和发展的信号。”阅兵领导小组办公室副主任曲睿在周二的新闻发布会中说道。

It will be China’s first parade to mark the victory, with foreign troopsand domestic model troops, including the Eighth Route Army, the New Forth Armyand the Southern China guerrilla, participating in the parade for the firsttime, said Qu.

曲睿称，这将是中国第一次为庆祝二战胜利，同外国军队和国内功勋部队阅兵，其中包括八路军、新四军和华南游击队都将参加。

To show respect to those who participated and supported the war, the paradewill also invite veterans and their descendants.

为向参与和支持战争的人表示尊重，阅兵还将邀请退伍老兵及其后代参加。

Other Chinese contingent will be made up of soldiers selected from China’sseven military regions, navy, air force, the Second Artillery Force of thePeople’s Liberation Army and People’s Armed Police, Qu said, adding that a lotof the military equipment will also be displayed for the first time during theparade.

曲睿介绍，其他中国检阅部队将由从人民解放军七大军区、海军、空军、第二炮兵部队和人民武装警察部队抽选的官兵组成，大量军事设备也将在阅兵仪式中首次亮相。

Qu said to save time and be efficient, all troops taking part in the paradewill receive extensive training three months prior to the parade in the autumn,and they have been gathered at bases and some nearby airfields in Beijing fortraining.

曲睿称，为节省时间提高效率，所有参阅部队都将在秋季阅兵前三个月接受大量的训练，他们将在北京附近的军事基地和军用机场进行训练。

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China CentralCommittee, will attend the event and deliver a speech.

At the event, Xi will award medals to veterans and generals whoparticipated in the war and family dependents of the deceased.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’sWar of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-FascistWar.

Japan signed the formal surrender on September 2, 1945, and Chinacelebrated its victory the following day. September 3 was declared VictoryDay.
