In some countries，there is not enough recycling of waste materials (e.g.paper，glass and cans). What are the reasons and solutions?

范文：

Recycling basically involves converting used materials that are labeled as recyclable into a raw form that can be reused as materials for a new purpose, thereby significantly reducing energy consumption and controlling pollution. However, the fact is that a large amount of trash has not been recycled and there are factors responsible for this.

A common misconception that individual recycling efforts have no real overall impact may probably be an important reason. Misinformation about overflowing landfills, depleted resources and climate change has convinced some non-recyclers that their contribution to recycling can hardly make a difference. In other words, they continue to believe the fallacy that environmental challenges about resources and pollution can only be tackled by the government rather than individuals, and this explains why they may make recycling behavior the lowest priority.

Inconvenience seems to be another main reason why people refuse to recycle. The lack of recycle bins, curbside recycling services and recycling centre accounts for people's unwillingness of recycling cans, glass and paper. Besides, sorting recyclable items for the appropriate bins could be time-consuming and confusing, which easily leads to the inadequacyin recycling.

Awareness campaign about benefits and the importance of recycling launched by the government may be a feasible solution to this problem. People should be informed that individual product use, pollution, greenhouse contribution and waste habit do have significant environmental health (见注解) implications.Also they have to realize how important their individual effort is to the environment. Another possibility to address the recycling issue is to raise government funds for recycling facility to make recycling available and accessible.

To conclude, with the right action by the government and public participation in recycling programmes, those unwanted materials would be regenerated and people would greatly benefit from the recycling system.
