Indeed, plenty of evidence could be explored to justify that it works tosafeguard our surroundings via high-tech. First, efforts should be made toexplore and popularize new environmentally friendly energy sources to substitutethose highly polluted fossil fuels. To illustrate, it is highly recommended toproduce and popularize low-carbon and eco-friendly vehicles aiming to reducecontamination caused by the emission of exhaust gas. The use of fuel-cell-drivencars will pose less threat to the environment. Also, natural resources such assolar energy, sea energy, wind energy and tidal power could and should beapplied to our normal life and production. Eventually, the effective recycle ofresources could be realized if we can rely on the high-tech to classify andhandle various rubbishes.

Yet, in addition to relying on high-tech, it is still feasible to call onpeople to live a simple and eco-friendly life. First, environmental pollutionwill be eased if less high-tech products are utilized in our life. For example,the public should be advocated to avoid driving private cars and take publictransit, in this sense, it will diminish the waste of natural resources andminimize the use of fossil fuels. Further, people’s environmental protectionawareness should be strengthened. To foster water-wise lifestyle, to economizeelectricity and to diminish the use of plastic bags could all serve as perfectexamples. Last, people can also be encouraged to visit the beautiful places thatare close to home, rather than traveling for long distance on holidays.

Overall, I re-affirm my conviction that both living a simple life andrelying on high-tech could play an indispensable part in the process ofenvironmental preservation. Therefore, the combination of both methods is highlyrecommended.
