雅思口语命题官貌似对“水”有着很深的感情,无论是在Part 1还是Part 2都出现过跟水有关的题目,顺带着在Part 3就问问环境污染水治理方面的内容,都是满满的套路… 所以大家还是提前准备起来吧!

1. What activities would you do if you were spending some leisure time at a beach or near the ocean?

Well, nothing special, just the usual stuff people would do on the beach, like taking a stroll, sunbathing or simply going swimming, but I’m not much of a swimmer, so I wouldn’t dare to try those exhilarating water sports like surfing or jet skiing.

2. Why do some people like water sports?

Well, there might be several reasons. For starters, some water sports can be thrilling, like what I mentioned earlier, surfing or jet skiing. People could get a buzz out of them, and at the same time, it’s a good way to release the pressure. And some people enjoy doing relaxing water sports, for example, swimming, especially during summer, which can be really cool and refreshing.

Buzz:a strong feeling of pleasure, excitement or achievement. 例如:

a buzz of excitement/ expectation

She gets a buzz out of her work.

Flying gives me a real buzz.

You can sense the creative buzz in the city.

3. Do you think the government should invest money in developing facilities for water sports?

Yeah, definitely! With the development of tourist industry, there’s a high demand for facilities of water sports in coastal cities, the government should absolutely invest money on those amenities to meet people’s needs. And in turn, this will help boost the local economy, you know, the more advanced the facilities are, the more tourists will come to this area.

Amenity:a feature that makes a place pleasant, comfortable or easy to live in. 例如:

The campsite is close to all local amenities.

Many of the houses lacked even basic amenities (= baths, showers, hot water, etc.).

4. Do you think that human activity is posing a threat to the oceans of the world?

Well, to some extent, yes. I mean, some of our human activities can be really detrimental to the ocean. For example, tourists sometimes throw garbage into the ocean, which will seriously contaminate the water. And some garbage could even kill the marine animals. Like, I once heard from the news that a turtle was trapped by a plastic bag and got choked in the end.

5. What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages of travelling on the oceans?

Well, as tourists, travelling on the ocean gives us a chance to be close to nature and admire the splendid views, which could be quite an experience. However, the downside is, some people might get seasick so they couldn’t fully enjoy the trip. And another thing is, the garbage we produce and throw to the ocean could really contaminate the water.

6. Do you think it’s important for children to learn how to swim?

Well, I believe it’s necessary for children to learn how to swim, ‘cause first of all, it’s a survival skill that can save our lives during emergencies and accidents. Besides, swimming is good exercise that helps us keep fit and shape our body. I know many friends who have lost weight by swimming regularly.

7. Do you think it’s best for a child to be taught how to swim by a parent or by someone else?

Definitely by a professional, ‘cause from my personal opinion and experience, proper guidance and training is crucial for a beginner. Learning from a professional is the best and quickest way to acquire a skill. Parents might not be that strict and well-trained, so the result won’t be as good.
