I’d like to talk about David Beckham who’s an accomplished soccer player. He became famous when he was quite young, and his achievement in this field is remarkable. I heard because of his contribution to his country, he got rewarded by the Queen, and he even got invited to Prince William’s wedding ceremony.

I have to say, he’s definitely the most handsome soccer player in the whole wide world. He’s got fans all over the globe, I mean, girls are crazy about him. Now he’s over 40, but he’s still charming and gorgeous. Besides, he’s got great taste in fashion, I mean, he’s like a trendsetter, many people like to copy the way he dresses. And he’s also endorsed countless fashion brands.

Oh, and I have to mention his picture-perfect family. His wife is Victoria who’s a singer and fashion designer. They have 4 children, 3 boys and a cute girl. David has got a strong sense of responsibility to his family. As a public figure, his schedule is so tight, but he could always make time for his wife and children. We can constantly see him on the news that he’s having a vacation with his family.

And speaking of his family, I’m really jealous of the relationship between David and his sons. They are just like friends, you know. Once, when his oldest son was talking to his fans in a video, his son proudly announced that he’s got over a million followers on Instagram, but David came over and said, ‘Big deal, I’ve got 10 million more.’ So you see, he’s really humorous.

And his little son always keeps a low profile, he doesn’t enjoy living in the public eye, so when he was little, he didn’t want David to drive him to school ‘cause that would attract so much attention. But David was just like a naughty boy, you know. He would deliberately wait for his son at the school gate, and shout ‘I love you’ in front of all his schoolmates. I think those harmless jokes are really interesting.

And as far as I know, he’s not a man who’s good at expressing his feelings and his love for his children, but we can tell that from small details in life. For example, he insisted that he should be there when his boy was getting his first tattoo, and he was really sad when he knew that his boy would be moving out after turning 18. So you see, such a tough man actually has a soft heart, and I’m sure that’s what makes him a good parent.

accomplished = very good at a particular thing; having a lot of skills 例如：

remarkable = unusual or surprising in a way that causes people to take notice例如：

a remarkable achievement / career / talent

trendsetter = (often approving) a person who starts a new fashion or makes it popular

endorse = to say in an advertisement that you use and like a particular product so that other people will want to buy it例如：

I wonder how many celebrities actually use the products they endorse.

picture-perfect = exactly right in appearance or in the way things are done例如：

Her wedding day was picture-perfect.

The White House has worked for years to produce picture-perfect events to frame the president as the nation's leader.

public figure = a person who is well known because they are often on the television, radio, etc. 例如：

As a public figure, she had to endure suffocating publicity.

a well-known public figure who shall remain nameless

It took him some time to grasp that he was now a public figure.

a low profile = the amount of attention somebody / something has from the public例如：

I advised her to keep a low profile for the next few days (= not to attract attention).

in the public eye = well known to many people through newspapers and television例如：雅思初级

She doesn't want her children growing up in the public eye.

harmless = unlikely to upset or offend anyone 例如：

It's just a bit of harmless fun.

tattoo = a picture or design that is marked permanently on a person's skin by making small holes in the skin with a needle and filling them with colored ink例如：

His arms were covered in tattoos.

She has a tattoo of a tiger on her shoulder.

move out = to leave your old home
