雅思口语关于Describe a competition you want to take part in 的话题，我们可以联想到电视上经常看到一些让大家惊叹“行行出状元”的game show。就像《最强大脑》啦之类的。下面的素材结合现实TV show，加入了一些虚构的成分，不过听起来，也是一场很炫酷的competition呢：

There’s a popular game show in China, called Who’s the Best Driver. I really want to take part in that competition ‘cause it’s super cool.

This game requires excellent driving skills, for example, you have to control the speed of your vehicle precisely, you have to be able to control the steering wheel appropriately so that the car can go in the direction you want it to go. So basically, you need to coordinate your hands and feet perfectly.

Every contestant has to meet several challenges. For example, they need to drive on a platform which is like a see-saw. And they have to keep the balance over 10 seconds, and then they can go to the next round. And I think the hardest challenge is the one where you have to park in several garages according to their instructions. And the last challenge is you need to drive your car into a moving truck. So you see, this game just seems humanly impossible. However, it doesn’t stop people from entering the competition, ‘cause the prize is so tempting. If I remember right, the winner could get a brand new car and 100,000 RMB in cash.

I’m not that good at parking my car into the garage. I mean, I couldn’t control the angle precisely, so if I sign up for the competition now, I’ll definitely lose marks because of that, and I might be eliminated in the first round. So maybe I still have a long way to go before I could be the winner.

雅思口语语言点解析：

game show = a television program in which people play games or answer questions to win prizes

steering wheel = the wheel that the driver turns to control the direction that a vehicle goes in

coordinate = to make the different parts of your body work well together

contestant = a person who takes part in a contest例如：

Please welcome our next contestant.

see-saw = a piece of equipment for children to play on consisting of a long flat piece of wood that is supported in the middle. A child sits at each end and makes the see-saw move up and down.例如：

Can we go on the see-saw?

humanly = within human ability; in a way that is typical of human behavior, thoughts and feelings例如：

The doctors did all that was humanly possible.

He couldn't humanly refuse to help her.

tempting = something that is tempting is attractive, and makes people want to have it, do it, etc.例如：

It was a tempting offer.

That cake looks very tempting.

It's tempting to speculate about what might have happened.

A weekend in Rome? Mm, sounds tempting!

in cash = money in the form of coins or notes/ bills例如：

Payments can be made by check or in cash.

The thieves stole £500 in cash.

payment in installments / in advance / by check / in cash

sign up for something = to arrange to do a course of study by adding your name to the list of people doing it

eliminate somebody (from something) = [usually passive] to defeat a person or a team so that they no longer take part in a competition, etc. = knock out例如：

All the English teams were eliminated in the early stages of the competition.

She was eliminated from the tournament in the first round.

have a long way to go = to need to make a lot of progress before you can achieve something例如：

She still has a long way to go before she's fully fit.
