剑桥雅思13出来后,很多同学都积极刷题,为了能第一时间了解更新的题目动向。为配合大家备考复习,朱博老师将剑13的口语话题进行解析,给大家参考思路。
剑13Test1 Part 1: Television programmes
1. Where do you usually watch TV programs/shows?
Well, I used to watch TV shows at home on TV, but after the advent of smartphones and tablets, and of course easy access to the Internet, now I just watch TV shows online with my phone or ipad, and I can watch them anywhere I like.
the advent of something/somebody = the coming of an important event, person, invention, etc.
2. What’s your favorite TV programs/show?
这里大家就举出自己喜欢的TV show类型,比如reality show真人秀,talk show脱口秀,TV series电视剧,soap opera肥皂剧,cartoon卡通片,news新闻,talent show选秀节目,game show等等。之后在理由的部分来几个形容词,例如用entertaining替换interesting,用amusing替换funny等等。
3. Are there any programs/shows you don’t like watching?
Um… I’m not a big fan of the news, you know, ‘cause I just don’t think those national or international affairs have anything to do with me. When I watch the news, I just feel bored and it’s really hard for me to concentrate on the show, and then the sound from TV just becomes background noise.
background noise = that you could hear, but were not listening to
4. Do you think you will watch more TV or fewer TV programs/shows in the future?
Well, fewer I guess. ‘cause in my spare time, I prefer to watch movies now, sometimes I watch some sitcoms, but that’s about it.
That’s about it. = used to say that you have finished telling somebody about something and there is nothing to add
Part 2 Describe someone you know who has started a business
You should say:
Who this person is
What work this person does
Why this person decided to start a business
And explain whether you would like to do the same kind of work as this person
I’d like to talk about Liu Qiangdong who’s the founder of Jing Dong which is an online shopping website.
His life story is pretty inspiring and educational. He was born into a poor family, but he worked hard and got into a prestigious university in China. He even started to do business when he was still in college, and after graduate, he started his company I mentioned earlier.
As a businessman, he’s got great judgment and strategic methods. The most important thing is, he’s trustworthy. I mean, he never sells fake stuff on his website. You know, many greedy businessmen like to sell knockoffs to make a huge profit, but he never does that. And he has his own shipping company, which means customers don’t have to wait a long time for their items to be delivered.
What I like most about him is that he’s a grateful person. It’s been 20 years since he left his village, but he never forgets his villagers who once helped him. Every year, he would donate a lot of money to the people in his hometown, and he even set up a foundation in order to sponsor those children who are just like him when he was young.
So he’s the businessman I’d like to introduce and I really look up to him.
Part 3
Choosing work
1. What kinds of jobs do young people not want to do in your country?
I believe today’s young generation are not that into jobs that involves a lot of hard physical work. They just don’t think those kinds of work are decent enough, and generally the rough work is not well paid. And also, if a job requires plenty of specialist knowledge, like scientists or researchers, then young people might not be interested in them either. Not too many people are willing to invest a great deal of time and effort in studying something intensively.雅思初级
2. Who is best at advising young people about choosing a job, teachers or parents?
Well, maybe teachers, ‘cause they know us better professionally, I mean, they know what our strong suits are, and they’ve been doing this for a long time, they are more experienced, and they could offer valuable advice based on previous graduates. As students, we tend to think teachers are trustworthy when it comes to giving advice on the job hunting.
3. Is money always the most important thing when choosing a job?
Well, it’s hard to say, but personally, I think there needs to be a balance. I mean, of course payment is important, that’s the main reason why people work, right? However, there’re other factors that we should consider as well, like whether your boss and coworkers are likeable, whether your working condition is comfortable and satisfactory, whether you could get personal enrichment from the job and things like that. So I guess, what I’m trying to say is that, money is not the only thing that can determine our job satisfaction.
