5月24号托福考试的综合写作和独立写作都是重复之前已经出现过的题目, 整套重复2014年3月15日题目。

5月24日托福综合写作

首先，综合写作部分是分析 the Pearl Poet 到底是谁，在2011年3月11日和 2014年3月15日的新托福考试中都出现过。

提出了在 British Library 馆藏文献的一个诗集作者Pearl Poet的身份有三种 theories

 Professor 认为三种理论都 possible, but none of them are convincing. 然后反驳了这三种理论

Sub-point 1

John Massey——Pearl Poet 的一首诗和 John 的 诗Handwriting 相同，所以可能是同一个人

当时这些出版物主要靠 professional copier 进行抄录，所以笔迹一样可能只是同一个人抄的

Sub-point 2

Hugh——

1.  两者都有一首诗描述了相似的subjects

2.  alliterations的用法相同

中世纪作家们作品中不同地方的人用的 dialect 不用，Hugh用的是Yorkshire dialect，和 Pearl Poet用的不同，所以不可能是同一个人写的。

Sub-point 3

No single author——

因为这四首诗的相似之处也就是location 相同，所以可能是同一个region 的不同人写的

很多 Pearl Poet 诗中的 uncommon vocabularies 在不止一首诗里出现过，这在中世纪时期不太可能，因为每个 poet 都有不同的 vocabulary运用习惯。

Which way do you think is the best for a student to make new friends?

A: joining a sports team;托福听力题型

B: participating in community activities;

C: traveling

这个题目近年来出现了好几次，最近一次出现在去年3月15日。关于这个题目，写法可以很多样化。考生可以根据自己的经验，进行方向的选择。

比如说选择A是最好的方式，在分论点设置上可以考虑写

1. 一个队伍里的队友有共同的目标;共同的兴趣爱好能够促进友谊;打比赛会是难忘的经历等

2. Volunteering的时候通常参与者来自非常不同的背景，甚至不同的年龄段，很难进行沟通，更无法开展一段友谊。

3. Travelling的时间较为短暂，无法真正了解一个人;学生在travel的时候通常和家人一起出行，所以很难在这时候交新朋友。

Friendship is one of the most valuablesentiments for people, especially forpeople who are in school days. Making newfriends and sharing interests withothers are always exciting parts of sociallife. When it comes to the best wayfor students to make friends, some supportthat participating in communityactivities or traveling are preferable,however, from where I am stand, joining asports team is the undoubtedly thebest choice.

First of all, for the energetic students,doing sports is their favorite.Therefore, joining a sports team from wherethey can share same interests andrelax is the easiest way to know each other.Training in the same sports team,the students cannot only release themselvesfrom whole day's pressure, but alsocan build up good relationships with othersthrough the communication andexercise. For example, the champions of Olympic Games,China'sfamous synchronizeddiving athletes, GuoJingjing and Wu Minxia, the two girls enjoy a really goodfriendship. Theybecame to know each other because they both joined the samesports team, andthen after exercised and played together, they finally becometwo enviable friends.

Additionally, cooperationand coherency are always the main essence of asports team. Here, students learn how to work together, how tofight for the samegoal through tacit teamwork, how to contribute to the wholeteam instead of justthinking of self, and even how to negotiate or discusswith others, as well ashow to be patient and rational. Although there may besome argument ordisagreement among students, I always think that everything isgoing to be okaybecause the sports team will be coherent.

Finally, joining a sport team will providea long period of time forstudents to get along with each other. However, ifstudents participate incommunity activities, for example, doing volunteer jobin the town's library,they would not have sufficient time to communicate witheach other since most oftheir time is full of working. Meanwhile, students canplay with each otherduring traveling, but only several days are deficient andmost people will notkeep in touch with others after the trip.
