Personally, I choose to visit a science lab. Most of the time the things welearn in classrooms are very theoretical, and hard to understand. Going the labI got a chance to use the lab equipment and apply theory in practice. Apart fromthat, I can also interact with the scientist working in the lab and enlightenmyself. Like, a chemist can give you some information on frontier issues in thebiochemistry field, or they might tell you something about a new drug to curecancer, and that will make me very excited.

However, during my four years in college, I not only improved myEnglish language proficiency, but also kept a high GPA and was on the dean'slist every year. Task 2
1. What kind of job will you choose? A job through which you can get a lotof money or a job through which you can get great personal satisfaction.
I guess it really depends on the scenario, if the job that gives me greatpersonal satisfaction can help me to pay all my utility bills and all otherliving expenses, I will choose the job that gives me great personalsatisfaction. Cuz, one has to work on a profession for a few decades beforeretirement, a job with high salary might not be the one you really like. Onemight suffer from constant depression and pressure doing that kind of job and itwill be detrimental to both their physical and psychology healthiness. Afterall, the experience is more valuable than salary.

I would choose the gifts that can be used, cuz to begin with, I don't wantto buy gifts cost me lots of money and end up being useless, like some paintingworks, figurines, and stuff like that. Things like a hat, an enlightening book,or even a movie CD, are more valuable to a friend, cuz there is a purpose ofusing these stuff, a hat can shelter the friend from the sun, a friend can haveunique perspective when reading an interesting book, and they can relaxthemselves when watching the movie CD. Plus, they will remember your friendshipwhen they are actually using and enjoying these gifts.

Personally, I agree with this. I would say the best way to learn is toparticipate in class discussion, to begin with, students need to do lots ofsearch and prepare notes for the class discussion. They can learn a lot byactively preparing for this. Additionally, the whole class gets a chance to hearmultiple points of view, although some points might not be as thought-provoking,you can learn a lot of stuff beyond the textbooks anyway, and understand how anidea works in real life when people share their personal experiences.
4. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The success of aschool largely depends on the resources it has such as textbooks andjournals.
I don't agree that the success of a school largely depends on the resourcesit has such as textbooks and journals. I admit that they are contributingfactors of a good school, but I think facilities and professors are big part ofthe success of a school. Firstly, science students depend on lab equipments andfacilities to test theories in books, just learning theories without experimentin the lab is too boring and unproductive, so facilities, like research centersare very important. On top of that, professors are the key resource of auniversity, cuz they are the ones who can motivate the students and developtheir skills and make them more creative, thus giving the students a betterchance to be successful in the future.
5. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The mostimportant influences that young adults have are from their families.
Personally, I would say families indeed influence young adults a lot. Morespecifically, parents are the very first teachers in our psychologicaldevelopment, and they, together with other family members shape our earlybehaviors, values and even habits. For example, like if your parents are zealousreaders of books and newspapers, one is likely to be a big fan of reading, andthat will positively influence our intelligence. Also, for other personalidiosyncrasies are also influenced by close family members, like if parents arecoffee lovers, the kids also tend to like coffee.
6. Some prefer card games, while others prefer computer games. which one doyou prefer and why?
Personally, I prefer card games. To begin with, it is more interactive, someone is around when you are playing the card game, and actually it is a greatto spend quality time with friends and family members. It bring me and friendscloser, it helps me to bond with them. However, lots of people got addicted tocomputer games and end up wasting their previous time, and sitting in front ofthe computer all day alone can jeopardize your health and your eyesight.
7. Which do you prefer? A job with a high salary but a lot of businesstrips, or a job with a low salary but no business trips.
Personally, I would to choose a job that can give a chance to travelaround. I am the kind of person who likes new and exciting things andexploration. Just staying in one place, I will get extremely bored. I might nothave a high efficiency at work and might not be very productive. On top of that,When doing business in different places, I got a chance to talk to locals andget to know their culture, customs and way of living. By interacting with them Ican broaden my horizon and have new perspective on things, also I got paid more,it's like kill two birds with one stone.
8. Some students prefer to write their course papers a day or two beforethe paper is due. Other students prefer to start working on their papers muchsooner, spending a little time each day to complete the paper. Which do youprefer? Explain why.
I prefer to finish the paper sooner rather than later, to begin with, tofinish lots of paper, you might spend a long time to find relevant references, figure out the data and the models you need to apply in the paper, starting towork on the paper early can make sure you have sufficient time to finish it ontime. Plus, If you chose to work on the paper a day or two before it is due, youmight have some scheduling problems, and be bombarded with other kinds ofassignment, like group projects, presentations and stuff.
9. Some people argue people born with natural abilities are more likely tosucceed. Other people believe success can be achieved through hard work. What'syour opinion.
Personally, I would say to be successful, one needs to be both talented andhard-working. Lots of businessman and investor have a natural instinct of whatkind of field of industry is worth their investment, they need that businessacumen to spot the best deal, but I think it also takes hard work, cuz thebusiness world are so competitive, in order to stay alive, they have to work dayand night to keep themselves in the game. These two factors are also a must forartists, athletes and even musicians.
10. Some like do jobs with different tasks and others prefer to do the sametask every day. Which one do you prefer?
I would like to choose a job that requires me to do lots of tasks. First ofall, sitting in the office and repeating the same task again and again can bekilling. I will be really bored doing these repetitive tasks, and my workingefficiency will be very low. Secondly, doing lots of tasks can develop myself tobe a well-rounded person, now the job market is very competitive. If you aretrained to do different kind of tasks in a professional setting, you will bemore attractive in the job market, thus have a better shot in getting ahigher-paid job.
11. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: people should beforced to retire after the age of 65.
Personally, I totally agree with this. To begin with, typically by the ageof 65, people have worked for like more than 40 years, and that is a pretty longtime, we spend more than 40 years dedicated to different professions; and peopledeserve the chance to enjoy their retirement at 65 years. Additionally, generally, lots of positions require professionals to be extremely healthy andactive in order to fulfill their tasks, our health gets worse with the passingtime, lots of seniors around 60 years suffer from cardiovascular diseases, highblood pressure and stuff; so people at around 65 years old are not asproductive, thus they should be forced to retire.
12. Some people believe that it is better for children to grow up in bigcities. Others believe that it is better for children to grow up in rural areas. What is your opinion and why?
I would say it is better for children to grow up in big cities. Thefacilities and the atmosphere will be very beneficial to kids to grow up in acity. For example, kids are likely to get better education, medical treatment, and even social welfare. However, kids that live in the country are not thatlucky. Apart from that, a big city is multi cultural and full of dynamics, thereare people from all over the country and even from around the globe. Getting achance to experience different languages, customs and cultures will benefit thekids a lot when they grow up and it will make them a better and well-roundedperson.
