Task 1.

Things always 改变 in an unexpected way. Please describe something you have done recently but you never imagined you would do 10 years ago. Use 事例 and 细节in your answer.

Well, with the help of modern technology like cell phone, laptop and internet, I do lots of things that I would never do 10 years ago. For instance, I shop on line a lot. With just a click of the button, the next moment you know, your order is delivered right at your door. It is also easy to compare the prices offered by different on-line stores and get a bargain. However, 10 years ago, technology was not so advanced that there were not so many on-line stores where people could shop around and people depended on the traditional way of shopping.toefl听力笔记

Task 2.

You live in a crowded 城市 with only green space- the city park. 政府 recently proposes to build a housing complex on this only green space. Do you think it is 好主意?

Well, I would say it is a bad idea to build a housing complex on the only green space. Firstly,  the trees and flowers in the park can absorb lots of gases, like carbon dioxide, ozone, and stuff like that. Actually, through the process of photosynthesis, trees and flowers can produce oxygen and purify the air. Additionally, trees and flowers provide shade in the summer and through the process of transpiration, a grown tree can provide a cooling effect equivalent to 10 air-conditioner operating 20 hours a day. Lastly, the park is a very nice place for citizens to hang out, it is the very place where people do jogging, have picnics and stuff like that. Without it, the city will be very boring.
