托福考前应该怎样准备口语考试呢?为帮助大家提前找到考试的感觉，适应考试节奏，北京新东方郝新宇老师在此和托福考生们分享针对2019年6月15、16日的托福独立口语预测。

同学们看到题目之后先自己思考下如何作答，录下自己的答案，然后从思路和语言上反思修改自己的答案，并再次练习，确保最终45秒之内能够做到流畅顺利表达。

以下是针对2019年6月15、16日托福考试独立口语部分的预测，Task1和Task2各10题。

Task 1:

1. The government is planning to invest money in a certain field, which of the following field do you think should be given priority to get money support?

2. The community in your school is going to start new courses at weekend for students to study, which of the following courses would you like to choose?

6. One of your good friends is about to study in a foreign university for one year, after finishing that year’s study, your friend will have to study another year in his own university to successfully graduate, which means he has to spend one more year to get his bachelor degree. As for this condition, do you have any advice to your friend, should he go or not?

I suggest my friend should cherish this chance to study one more year in a foreign university.

The most remarkable reason is that he may experience the exotic culture. For example, my friend is a Chinese student, if he studies in Singapore for one year, then he may taste the authentic Singapore foods, such as the curry foods, the chili crab, the Hainanese chicken rice. Apart from the food culture, the beautiful landmarks, like the Marina Bay sand, the largest infinity swimming pool in the world, the tropical scenery may also expand his horizon. He uses one year to see a new and splendid world and this year will be impressive.

Sample response:

I don’t recommend my friend to join such a program because it is money wasting. My friend is a Chinese student; but if he exchanges to America for one year, hemight spend more money. For example, the tuition for a college student in Chinais around 1000 dollars per year, however, the tuition for a college student in America might be around 50 thousand dollars per year. Apart from studying, the cost for renting a housing, taking a taxi, eating in a restaurant will also be more expensive than that in China. All of these may increase his parents’ economic burden. That’s my advice.

7. In our daily lives, we heavily rely on our cellphones, from your perspective, can you talk about the advantage and disadvantage of communication with friends through cellphones instead of meeting friends face to face? Give specific explanation in your response.

Sample response:

One remarkable advantage is money saving. As long as you have the WIFI, no matter how long I talk with my friends, actually the cost is no more than 1 dollar. However, if meeting my friends face to face, no matter in a café or in a restaurant, we may have to order some drinks or foods, then we may spend over 15 dollars or even more.

The disadvantage is staring at cellphones for too long is harmful to eyes. If I spent 15 mins talking with one friend, then adding up, talking with 10 different friends entails 150 mins. The radiation will be bad for children’s eyes, leading to the near sightedness easily.

8. People, especially young students, often drop into a fast food restaurant on the street to have their meals, from your experience, what are the advantages or disadvantages of eating fast foods in those restaurants?

Sample response:

In my view, the most remarkable advantageis time-saving. Eating in those restaurants, no matter it is the KFC or McDonald’s or a Chinese fast food restaurant, ordering what you want to eat, with in 1 or 2 mins, you may get your foods, and foods are delicious but not complex, people may finish their meals very quickly, maybe 15 mins more or less. Then people, especially youngster, can turn to their studies or work. However, if choosing a non-fast food, ordering and waiting and eating, you may spend around one hour to finish one meal; although it’s might be more elegant, yet it is very time-consuming.

9. Usually at the end of the semester students are asked to evaluate teachers’ teaching. What do you think are the advantages and/or disadvantages of this? Give your specific explanations in your response.

Sample response:

In my view, the most remarkable advantage is this may promote teachers’ teaching. Receiving the feedback, teachers may have a clear image about their merits and demerits of their lessons, such as whether students can well understand their instruction, whether the teaching pace is proper or not, whether the homework is too much or not and so on. Then teachers will adjust their lessons to a more appropriate condition, which is beneficial to both teachers themselves and students. However, if without such evaluation, there will be lacking communication between teachers and students, and teachers may lose a chance to perfect their presentation.

10. When shopping in the supermarkets, many citizens would prefer to bring their own shopping bagin stead of buying new cloth bags or plastic bags. Can you talk about the advantage and/or disadvantage of taking your own shopping bags.

Sample response:

In my view, the most remarkable advantage is definitely saving money. Taking my own city for example, one plastic bag or one cloth bag sold in the supermarkets is usually 0.2 dollars, if buying one bag each time, then adding up, it will be much money for consumers. However, if using your own ones, you can save such an expenditure.

The disadvantage is inconvenience. Sometimes we may just drop into the supermarket to buy something after work or after dating. If bringing the shopping bag with us all the time or going back home to fetch the shopping bag, it might be really inconvenient for us.

Task 2:

1. When you have different opinions on government policy with your family members, will you try to persuade them to agree with yours?

2. Do you prefer to make decisions by yourself or instead to consult your friends and family members? Please give your explanation.

3. Some people prefer to make friends with people who have the same age with themselves; while some people prefer to make friends with those who have different ages from themselves. Which choice do you think is better and why?

4. Some people prefer to have a job that has a regular schedule, which means you may go to work at 9 in the morning and get off work at 17 in the afternoon. Some people prefer to have a job that has a flexible schedule, which means you may don't have to go to work at a certain time and you can arrange your own schedule. Which one do you prefer and why?

5. Three months later you will be graduating from your university and you are looking for a job. It happens the other day you got a job offer from one of your desired companies, however, the headquarters of this company is far from your dormitory. As for this condition, you are offered two choices on the interviewing; one is the telephone interview and the other is the face-to-face interview which entails a long journey to that company. Which choice would you prefer? Give specific explanation in your response.

As for these two choices, definitely I will choose the telephone interview.

One reason is this choice is time-saving. Staying in my dormitory, the moment the interviewer picks up my phone, the instant we can start the interview, it is very efficient. However, if having the face-to-face interview, I might spend 3-4 hours commuting from my house to that company.

The other reason is economical. Having the telephone interview, lasting 15- 20 mins, actually the cost might be no more than 2 dollars. However, if going to that company, in my city the tran sportation cost might be 10 dollars by subway and if by taxi, the cost might be over 100 dollars.

6. As for important business meetings, do you prefer to have face-to-face meeting or have the meetings through advanced technologies like telephones?

Sample response:

If I were the boss, I would recommend my staffs to have the meetings through something like telephones. The most remarkable reason is that this choice is very economical. When having the face-to-face meeting, if two sides are in different cities, then staffs from one company may have to go to another city, then money will be spent on airplane tickets or train tickets, booking hotels or restaurants and so on, the cost might be over hundreds of dollars. On the contrary, if having meetings through telephone, arranging a certain time, staffs from both sides just need to sit before the screen to have the meeting, the cost might be less than 5 dollars.

7. Some people think students should well learn mathematics when they are studying in schools; while some thinks people can learn the mathematics when they work. Which one do you agree and why? Give specific explanation in your response.

Sample response:

I think students should master mathematics when they are in schools. Taking myself for example, I don’t care about others, my major is accounting and in the future my dream is to be a financial or an economic analyst. If doing the job like that, I have to know something about derivative, differentiation, integration and soon. Or else I am not able to clearly analyze some data. And the math courses in my university happens to be teaching the knowledge mentioned above. However, if I wait to learn some math knowledge in my work, when stepping into an investment company, I may lag far behind because the majority of my colleagues have good math foundation.

8. Some people argue the scholarship is supposed to give students who have excellent academic performance, while some people think the scholarship should be given to students who lack money. Which opinion do you agree and why?

Sample response:

I think the scholarship should be given to students having excellent academic performance, because this way tends to be fair. No matter the poor students or those who are not poor,they both have the equal chance to study and improve themselves, so in order toget the scholarship, they will pursue the higher, the faster, the stronger on their studies or academic researches, which well embodies the spirit of schools. However, if only giving to those poor students, it is better for the scholarship to change its name into pension. The school should be full of care and love, yet the priority for the schools is to teach and cultivate students, instead of a shelter.

9. Which teacher’s course would you like to take and why? Use specific reasons and examples to explain your choice.

Personally, I prefer courses given by humorous teachers.

Firstly, humorous teachers help me remember things more clearly. Taking my English teacher for example, whenever he teaches a new word, he always makes up a joke, or tells us interesting background information, or uses funny language, which leaves me a very deep impression, learning new things more quickly.

Secondly, humorous teachers give me a good mood to each day’s routine. This semester my study burden is huge, actually there are 9 different classes every day and there are countless quizzes, so having classes with humorous teachers help me learn things happily; it will be much easier for me to bear so many classes.

10. When students learn in schools, some experiments don’t have to be done by students themselves, instead some experiments can be learnt and understood by video teaching. Do you agree or disagree with the statement? Give specific explanations in your response.

Sample response:

To some extentI think video teaching is a reasonable choice. The main reason is this choiceis money saving. Concerning the reality in my country--China, in some western poor provinces, there is not sufficient budget for many senior high schools to build some biology or chemistry labs equipped with adequate facilities, thus some students may not have the chances to do experiments by themselves. So, if there are well described videos given to the students in poor areas, then those students can also learn some knowledge or principles from biology or chemistry or physics subject. Through the video teaching, knowledge learnt, problem addressed, money saved, I think this choice is acceptable.
